Responsible Finance Week - Taking action with "My Sustainable Future": I'm in!
What does Responsible Finance mean?
Ten years already! “Responsible Investment Week” was first called "Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Week" and was renamed “Responsible Finance Week” in 2016. It is organised by the Responsible Investment Forum (RIF), an association that brings together professionals involved in SRI such as investors, management companies, brokers, extra-financial rating agencies, investment advisors, market organisations, etc. This week is placed under the patronage of the French Ministries of the Economy and Finance and of Ecological Transition.
Responsible finance cuts across three areas - SRI, solidarity-based finance and crowdfunding with a societal impact, which have in common that they exclusively target the field of investment and take into account an environmental or social dimension. Because we are talking about investments, responsible finance does not target philanthropic actions or solidarity donations.
SGPB’s positive and sustainable investment solutions and support
Thanks to the lasting relationship of trust that Societe Generale Private Banking maintains day after day with its clients, and in line with our raison d'être(1), we aim to mobilise your savings towards products that finance the positive transformation of our economy. With this in mind, we develop positive and sustainable investment solutions such as charitable structured products, or SRI wealth planning and development portfolio management solutions. This is how we participate in sustainable finance, and in each of its areas, SRI, solidarity finance and crowdfunding with impact, Societe Generale Private Banking is able to support you.
Our support is based on listening to understand your expectations, on pedagogy to give you the keys to understanding and on transparency to explain how these products contribute to the sustainable transformation of the world. Indeed, a study conducted in 2019(2) for the AMF ("Autorité des Marchés Financiers") and published in June of the same year gives this face of the expectations of individuals with regard to responsible finance: responsible investors have little knowledge of sustainable finance but are interested in it. They want to be guided and advised and to obtain proof of what is promised from a societal point of view.
Two initiatives to help you decipher SRI
To help you better understand socially responsible investment, we're releasing a series of SRI podcaststhis month, which can be accessed from the Societe Generale Private Banking website or directly on the Spotify and Apple Podcast platforms (click here to discover the first episode). Please subscribe to receive updates on the release of each episode.
In order to better understand your expectations, we have also developed a self-assessment questionnaire on socially responsible investment, which we have called "My sustainable future". Don't wait to fill out this questionnaire, it only takes a few minutes and you can share the results with your private banker who will be able to accompany you.
