Apple achieved a market capitalisation of $2 trillion on 19 August 2020, doubling its valuation in just over two years. This is the first time that an American listed company has reached this threshold.
According to the US Agency for Ocean and Atmospheric Observation, there is a 75% chance that 2020 will be the hottest year since 1880, and a 99.9% chance that it will be among the five hottest years ever recorded.

After surpassing its all-time high of September 2011 at $1,921 an ounce, gold just kept on going, crossing the symbolic 2,000 mark to reach a new high of $2,067 in early August.
This is the average number of weekly unemployment claims in the United States between mid-March and the end of May (compared to 220,000 in normal periods). The rise in unemployment has been very rapid, concentrating into just two months the same job losses that were spread over two years during the financial crisis of 2008-2009.
